Description

An envelope with an unused gum seal on the right-hand edge. The plain brown envelope has the words “Columbia drawing pad” underlined and “NAME” followed by two rows of dotted lines. The Columbia CPC logo appears at the bottom left with “Made in BC” below. On the right is No. ….. with “M91” handwritten into the space provided above the dotted line. Inside the envelope is a construction paper pad (30cm x 22cm). The paper in the pad has yellowed. The pad is backed by a single piece of stiff cardboard.

Narrative

The drawing portfolio, made in BC, is something that would have been readily available in stationary stores in Victoria. It will be useful in displays to demonstrate the artistic interests of the Dunsmuir daughters, particularly Effie.
 

History of Use

The drawing portfolio was purchased by the donor’s mother. It’s history of use prior to that is not known.
