One positive photograph of the interior of the living room in Dolaura, the Colwood residence of Dola Frances Dunsmuir (Mrs. Henry Cavendish). At the end of the room is a brick fireplace with a sofa and chair in front of it. Behind the sofa is a drop-leaf table with barley twist legs set up as a desk. On the desk are 2 very tall candlestick holders with candles, 2 photos, inkwell, box and blotter, and James Dunsmuir's letter seal.Narrative
This is the living room in Dolaura, the Colwood residence of Dola Frances Dunsmuir (Mrs. Henry Cavendish) where she lived off and on from circa 1945 to her death in 1966. On the table is an ormolu and onyx letter seal used by Dola's father Hon. James Dunsmuir, which is in Craigdarroch's museum collection (see 992.017.028).History of Use
This photograph is part of an accession of Dunsmuir family photograph albums that were owned by Dola Frances Dunsmuir and bequethed to her sister's daughter, Judith Marie Kathleen Humphreys.Date
