She is wearing a hat and gloves, a striped cardigan, light-coloured blouse and an ankle length, dark-coloured skirt.Narrative
In this photograph, Laura Miller Dunsmuir is standing in front of the family's Cowichan River fishing lodge. The property was a favourite retreat for Laura's husband, James Dunsmuir until he died there on June 6, 1920. After James' death, the family continued to spend holidays at the lodge while they lived at Hatley Park. Jessie Muriel (Moulie) Dunsmuir also owned a neighbouring cottage.History of Use
This photograph and the Dunsmuir family album that it comes from was passed down through Laura Dunsmuir's daughter Dola Frances Dunsmuir (Mrs. Henry Cavendish) to the family of her sister Kathleen Euphemia Dunsmuir (Mrs. Seldon Humphreys) from whom it was acquired by The Castle Society in 2012.Date
