Description
A sepia-toned photograph of a young boy holding the reins of a pony in front of stables.
Narrative
This is a photograph of James Dunsmuir (1894-1915), also known as "James Jr." or "Boy", probably taken outside the stable of his family house, Burleith, on Victoria's Gorge waterway.
History of Use
This photograph is part of a large accession of photograph albums acquired from a Dunsmuir family member. The album that this photograph comes from was used at a number of Dunsmuir houses, including Burleith, Government House, Hatley Park, and Dolaura (house). 

It was inherited from Mrs. James Dunsmuir by her daughter Dola Frances Dunsmuir (Mrs. Henry Cavendish) and then by her sister Kathleen Dunsmuir's daughter Judith Marie Kathleen Humphreys, and finally by her daughter, who donated this photograph to The Castle Society.
