One sepia-toned full-length studio photograph of Marjorie Jean "Biddy" Holme-Sumner (1904-1989). She is posing on a lightly-coloured stepped plinth. She is wearing a dark calf-length skirt and blouse and a lightly-coloured buttoned V-necked sweater with a dark belt. Her right arm is resting across her legs and her left arm rests on the plinth. She is holding a cigarette in her left hand. The photograph is mounted on a gray and black matboard. One the back of the card is written “Marjorie Holme Sunmer” in pencil. Marjorie Jean "Biddy" Holme-Sumner (1904-1989) was a great granddaughter of Robert and Joan Dunsmuir of Craigdarroch Castle. It’s not known where this photograph was taken.History of Use
This photograph was created in about 1951 and was used by Marjorie Jean "Biddy" Holme-Sumner in Britain for an unknown period of time. It was later used by her sister Georgiana Holme-Sumner and her husband Robert Dunlop Stewart. It was next owned by their son, who donated the photograph to Craigdarroch Castle in 2023. He had been using it at his home in Scotland. Date
