The artist, Victoria architect Samuel Maclure, painted two pictures that Mrs. Joan Dunsmuir owned when she lived in Craigdarroch. They sold from her bedroom as lots #402 and #402a during the auction of the house's contents on June 22,1909.This lovely winter landscape is not believed to have been owned by Mrs. Dunsmuir at Craigdarroch. It probably depicts a scene in the Victoria, B.C. area. It was collected in 1997 to present the Dunsmuir-era interiors at Craigdarroch.
