Narrative
This butter churn was intended for use in a kitchen. It was made by Blow Churn Company of London, England which was later known as JJ Blow Ltd, of Derbyshire, England. Blow specialized in producing agricultural machinery, although butter churns such as this would have been common in households where it was convenient to make small amounts of butter. It is sometimes known as a table churn. The glass jar was helpful because it was easy to monitor progress and avoid over churning.Date
