Wooden box holding 35 wooden blocks and five coloured mats of paper bonded to fabric. Each block is coloured on all six sides, every side depicting a different section of one of the included mats on the lid. Each mat depicts children of the middle and upper middle class involved in domestic activities. Toy meant for puzzle-building and logic skills for children.Narrative
This circa 1895 boxed set of picture puzzle blocks is in unusually good condition for a toy of this type and age. The accompanying group of finely printed coloured pictures which aid in the puzzle-building are very rare because they are usually lost, discarded, or otherwise separated from the blocks.
