Description
One black and white photograph of Hon. James Dunsmuir standing and dressed in his Vice-Regal uniform as Lieutenant Governor British Columbia. In his right hand he holds a bicorn ostrich-plumed hat.
Narrative
Hon. James Dunsmuir served as Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia from 1906 to 1908. The Vice-Regal uniform of the Lieutenant Governors of Canada is also known as the Windsor Uniform.  
History of Use
This photograph and other items in this accession were once owned by Hon. James Dunsmuir and his wife Laura Miller Dunsmuir (nee Surles). They were next owned by Hon. James Dunsmuir's footman and estate employee John Jamieson, and later, by his son, John ("Jack") Jamieson, who sold them to an antique dealer who sold them to Craigdarroch Castle.
