One printed and typewritten paper legal agreement dated August 17, 1931 between “Madge Sumner and John Samuel Henry Matson consisting of a light blue paper cover folded twice to make three sections, the interior with one light blue page and four cream-coloured pages.

Narrative

This is one of four documents related to John Samuel "Sam" Henry Matson and the Estate of the late Mary Jean Dunsmuir (Mrs. Mary Croft), the fifth daughter of Robert and Joan Olive Dunsmuir. They also relate to Emily Ellen Dunsmuir (Mrs. Henry Burroughes), Jessie Sophia Dunsmuir (Mrs. Richard Musgrave), Henrietta Maud Dunsmuir (Mrs. Reginald Chaplin), Joan Olive Dunsmuir, John William Bryden, Lucy Lenore Bryden, Elizabeth Joan Bryden, and Robert Oliver Dunsmuir Harvey. 

History of Use

This document and the other three related to it were used by Margaret Joan Harvey, and her daughter Georgiana Holme-Sumner (Mrs. Robert Dunlop Stewart), a great granddaughter of Robert and Joan Olive Dunsmuir, at her home in Britain. It was next used by her son, who kept them at his home in Scotland until donating them to Craigdarroch in 2023.
