Description
One black and white photograph of “Reed House”, a two story brick house with a slate roof. There is a pyramidal turret with a flared bottom located on the left side of the building. The turret has a circular window in the front centre of the roof-plane facing the camera. On the back of the photograph, written in pencil, is: “Back of Reed House, Plaxtol, Kent”. Stamped in black ink are the numbers “4” and “37”. There are four ovals in black ink with the word “Velox”.
Narrative
This photograph depicts “Reed House” in Plaxtol, Kent, England.  According to her grandson, it was the house that Margaret Joan Harvey was living in when she died in 1952. Although the description written on the back of the print indicates that the image depicts the “back” of the house, it is probably the front of the house (see: https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6731804).
History of Use
This photograph was created in about 1934 and was used by the family of Margaret Joan Harvey until it was donated to Craigdarroch by her grandson in 2023. He had been using it at his home in Scotland.
