One sepia-toned photograph of six young men in two rows wearing shorts and sleeveless shirts, the centre man in the first row holding a leather basketball on his lap. Behind them is a stucco wall flanked by the rusticated and smooth-surfaced stonework of Craigdarroch Castle's porte-cochère.

Narrative

This photograph depicts the Victoria College 1923-24 basketball team posing beside Craigdarroch Castle's porte-cochère.

History of Use

This photograph was in the possession of its photographer, Ernest Crocker, until shortly before his death in 1968. It was given by him to his friend who later gave it to the donor's late husband. It has been on Vancouver Island since its creation.
