One sepia-toned photograph of a large ship docked with a group of men in military uniforms and formal wear (including three with top hats) standing on and walking up an inclined walkway, greeting H.R.H. Prince of Wales.Narrative
H.R.H. Prince of Wales was in Victoria finishing a cross-Canada trip to Canadian communities and Canadian Military Hospitals. This photograph captures his arrival on September 23, 1919. On September 25, he opened Craigdarroch Military Hospital and then later that evening dined at Hatley Park with James and Laura Dunsmuir. In this photograph, he is dressed in his naval uniform and is first in the line being greeted.History of Use
