Description
One black and white photograph of the British Columbia Legislative building in Victoria, B.C. The hills of Metchosin are slightly visible on the horizon at the right. Various residential buildings can be seen in the background.
Narrative
This photograph was taken from an upper floor of the Empress Hotel offers an exceedingly clear and detailed view of of Victoria's Legislative Building. To the right of Legislative Building is Fairview, the former home of Robert and Joan Dunsmuir, and where Robert Dunsmuir died in April, 1889.
History of Use
This photograph was in the possession of Mr. Crocker until shortly before his death in 1968. It was given by him to his friend who later gave it to the donor's late husband. It has been on Vancouver Island since its creation.
