A black and white photograph of a gentleman standing on a wooden staircase outside a wooden building. He is wearing a medium shaded suit with very subtle stripes and a tam (hat) apparently made of the suit's fabric. He has a lightly coloured shirt and dark necktie and a bushy white moustache. On the right side of the photograph is sign on the building in uppercase lettering with the word "INFANTRY".Narrative
The photograph depicts Ernest William Albert Crocker, a prominent photographer who flourished in Victoria during the first half of the 20th Century. A full biography of him can be seen by clicking on the link with his name at the bottom of this record. History of Use
This photograph was in the possession of Mr. Crocker until shortly before his death in 1968. It was given by him to his friend who later gave it to the donor's late husband. It has been on Vancouver Island since its creation.Date
