Narrative
This small book titled “Hymns Ancient and Modern” was presented to Margaret Joan Harvey by Bishop William Wilcox Perrin on her marriage to Lt. Berkeley Holme-Sumner at Victoria’s Christ Church Cathedral on February 12, 1896.  The Rt. Reverend William Wilcox Perrin D.D., was the Second Bishop of [British] Columbia from 1893 to 1911.
History of Use
This book was used by Margaret Joan Dunsmuir (Mrs. Berkeley Holme-Sumner) in England from 1896 until her death in 1952. It was then used by her daughter Georgiana Holme-Sumner in England, and later, in Scotland by her son, who donated the book to The Castle Society in 2022.
