One sepia-toned photograph of Henrietta Maud Dunsmuir (Mrs. Reginald Spencer Chaplin) seated on a wooden bench. Sitting on her knee in a light-coloured dress is her son John Robert Chaplin (AKA “Jackie”) and to her left, also sitting on a bench wearing a lightly-coloured dress, is her daughter Joan Isobel Chaplin (AKA “June”). The mat photograph is mounted on thin and slightly bowed cardstock. There is a printed border on the cardstock and on the verso hand-written in pencil is: "15374 F" (underlined).Narrative
This photograph of Henrietta Maud Dunsmuir and her children John Robert Chaplin (aka “Jackie”) and Joan Isobel Chaplin (aka “June”) was probably taken in England in about 1904. They were frequent guests at Craigdarroch.History of Use
The donor of this photograph is a great great grandson of Robert and Joan Olive Dunsmuir. This photograph was used by Henrietta Maud Dunsmuir and then by the donor’s family in England and later in Scotland. It was gifted to The Castle Society in 2022.Date
