Description

One sepia-toned photograph of Elizabeth Georgina Harvey, about age 6, sitting on a chair covered with what appears to be bear hide. Her left arm rests on a raised surface of the hide beside her. On the verso in printed black font is "S. A. Spencer, FORT STREET, Victoria, B.C". At the top in hand-written black ink is "For Uncle George with love from Lizzie".

Narrative

This photograph of Elizabeth Georgina Harvey was taken in Victoria, B.C and inscribed “For Uncle George with love from Lizzie”, soon after the picture was taken, and probably by her mother or father.  

History of Use

The donor of this photograph is a great great grandson of Robert and Joan Olive Dunsmuir. This photograph was used James Harvey and Agnes Crooks Dunsmuir, on Vancouver Island, in England, and finally to Scotland.
