Description
One galvanized tin and steel ice cream scoop, also known as a “key-scraper coronet” or a “cone disher”, the cone-shaped end with a pierced key knob for turning the two steel bands inside the cone. One of these bands is stamped “CLAD’S DISHER”. The thick wire handle is stamped “8” where it meets the cone.
Narrative
This ice cream scoop is of a type that was commonly used in late 19th Century kitchens. This example was made by V. Clad Co. of Philadelphia, PA between 1880 and 1900.
