Description
One galvanized metal flour-sifter, the body with a handle and repouseed upper-case lettering as follows: “BROMWELL’S MEASURING-SIFTER MADE IN USA THREE CUPS TWO CUPS ONE CUP”. A hand-crank with a black wooden knobbed-end turns two curved metal wires inside the cup, which then force flour through the screen at the bottom of the cup.
Narrative
This flour sifter is of a type that was commonly used in late 19th Century kitchens. 

Jacob Bromwell invented this type of sifter in 1819 ay Cincinnati, Ohio, and it was patented in 1930.
