Description
One vellum-bound hard cover book (752 pages) titled Opuscula Mythologica Physica Et Ethica, by Thomas Gale published in Amsterdam in 1688. The vellum cover is light yellow in colour and heavily soiled, and the front cover is slightly warped. There is incised gilded decoration on the cover, back, and spine.

This second edition book by the English Classical scholar and antiquarian Thomas Gale is written in Latin and Greek. Its history of use makes it a suitable item for display Craigdarroch’s library and for the understanding of the intellectual interests of Emily Elinor Dunsmuir (1887-1938).
History of Use
The inside front cover of this book bears the signature of Elinor Dunsmuir (1887-1938), fifth daughter of Hon. James and Laura Dunsmuir, and granddaughter of Robert and Joan Olive Dunsmuir. She used this book at Hatley Park and at her summer home in Comox. Its previous and subsequent history of use is unknown.
