One photograph of a young woman standing and facing forward. She is looking to her right and wears a white cotton dress with short puff sleeves and a rounded drop neckline bodice trimmed in lace. She is wearing a white bonnet with a ruffled brim and a ribbon tied under her chin. She wears white elbow length fingerless gloves. The photographer's name and address is printed under the photograph (Hall & Lowe, Victoria B.C.).
Narrative
Pencil writing on the back of this photographic print identifies the subject as Elizabeth Georgina Dunsmuir Harvey (1873-1928). She was also known as Noel Harvey, due to her birth on Christmas Day.

Elizabeth Georgina Harvey was married in Victoria, B.C. on September 30, 1903 to George Alan Kirk. The reception was held at Craigdarroch where she had been living with her grandmother, Joan Dunsmuir Dunsmuir since 1890. The Victoria Daily Colonist reported that "several hundred people" attended the reception.1

The identification written on the back of this print might be incorrect. The woman in this photograph does not appear to closely resemble a confirmed photograph of Elizabeth Georgina Harvey that is also in the Craigdarroch Castle Collection (2023.3.7)

The photographer is the company "Hall and Lowe", Government Street , Victoria, B.C. They operated in Victoria from 1885 to May, 1892.
