Description

Two page, type written letter on white letter-sized paper. Content of the letter offers condolences on the death of the recipient's husband, Carron Jameson, and describes some of the activities that he and the author engaged in at Craigdarroch in their youths.

Narrative

This two-page typewritten letter was written by the late Ian Ross to the widow of his Victoria College classmate Carron Jameson, son of Robert Hamilton Jameson, first owner of  The Tartans of the Clans of Scotland and it recounts some of their youthful activities at Craigdarroch. Mr. Ross was the grandson of Robert and Jennie Butchart, creators of Victoria’s world famous Butchart Gardens. 

History of Use

This letter was written by Ian Ross and sent to Mrs. Carron Jameson in 1992 and next inherited by her daughter who donated it to Craigdarroch in 2019.
