Narrative
This late 19th Century printing of Longfellow’s popular work is of unusually high quality due to its excellent physical condition, suede leather covering, and the meticulously-tooled filigreed metal device tacked to its cover. It is the sort of book that would have been found in a wealthy Victoria household during the time of the Dunsmuir’s occupancy at Craidarroch, and it was therefore collected to be displayed in the Castle’s period interiors.
