Description
One sepia-toned photograph of Dola Frances Dunsmuir, about age 7, in a light-coloured coat and cap sitting on a dark-coloured horse on the circular drive about 15 metres northwest of the castle porte-cochere at Hatley Park, the Neptune Staircase behind her in the distance. In the bottom right corner there is a TRIO photography stamp. On the back of the photograph in the center "DOLA ON BEAUTY" is written in pencil and in the top left corner "P25" is written also in pencil.
Narrative
Dola Frances Dunsmuir (1903-1966) was a daughter of James and Laura Dunsmuir. "Beauty" was one of many horses owned by the Dunsmuir family at Hatley Park.
History of Use

This photograph was used by the Dunsmuir family at Hatley Park. It was later used on the British Columbia mainland before it returned to Vancouver Island. It was donated to The Castle Society by a grandson of Kathleen Euphemia Dunsmuir in 2007.
