Description
One photograph of a woman (Kathleen Euphemia Dunsmuir) sitting on a low dimensional brick or concrete block wall with a small garden behind it. She is dressed in a knee-length coat with a fur collar and a cloche hat. On the back of the photograph on the center right "Mommy in the garden" is written. Stamped in the bottom left corner is "87" and in the top left corner "33 P" is written in pencil.
Narrative
Kathleen Euphemia Dunsmuir was a daughter of James and Laura Dunsmuir, and grandaughter to Robert and Joan Dunsmuir. The Friends of Hatley Park researched this image and deemed it to be taken at her Beverly Hills, California home around 1931-32.
History of Use
This photograph was used by the Dunsmuir family at Hatley Park. It was later used on the British Columbia mainland before it returned to Vancouver Island. It was donated to The Castle Society by a grandson of Kathleen Euphemia Dunsmuir in 2007.
