Description

One sepia-toned photograph of a woman (Joan Marion "Marion" Dunsmuir) sitting side-saddle on a darkly-coloured horse. She wears riding clothes and a darkly coloured hat. Behind her are the grounds of Hatley Park near the circular drive outside the castle's porte-cochere. Stamped on the front bottom right is "PHOTO BY TRIO PHOTOGRAPHY". On the back "P24" and "MARION" are written in pencil.

History of Use

This photograph was used by the Dunsmuir family at Hatley Park and later, on the B.C. mainland before it returned to Vancouver Island. It was donated to The Castle Society by a grandson of Kathleen Euphemia Dunsmuir in 2007.
