One framed re-touched photographic portrait of a boy (Robin James Dunsmuir at about 7 years of age. His head, shoulders and chest are depicted. His body is facing to his right with his head slightly turned back. He has short, straight, dark hair. He is wearing a darkly-coloured long sleeved jacket, tie, and large white collar. The background is white background. In the bottom right corner is the signature of the photographer, Keturah Collings.Narrative
This photograph depicts Robin James Dunsmuir the only son and eldest child of Robert William Dunsmuir and Florence Dunsmuir (nee Swinden). He was born November 9th, 1917 in Buenos Aires, Argentina and died in Victoria, BC 1990. In the 1920's he came to Victoria with his mother and sisters at the request of his grandmother Laura Miller Dunsmuir at Hatley Park. History of Use
This photograph was created in London England in about 1919. It was the property of the subject's mother, Florence Swinden (Mrs. Robert William Dunsmuir) until about 1960 when it became the property of her son, Robin James Dunsmuir. He used it at his Victoria home (see 992.17.30) until his death in 1990, when his wife Kathleen Dunderdale Hall Dunsmuir inherited it. It was given to The Castle Society by her Estate in 1992. Date
