Narrative
This book titled A Mine of Faults is signed “Muriel Dunsmuir October 15th 1913”. Her full name was Jessie Muriel Dunsmuir (1890-1959). She used it at her parents' home, Hatley Park, and perhaps later at her Colwood house, Journey's End.

The author Francis William Bain (English, 1863-1940) claimed that many of his works, including this one, were translated from early Sanskrit. Scholars believe that his were original works, and that Bain was heavy influenced by his immersion in ancient Indian mystecism Sanskrit poety. Of Bain's writings, the New York Times said  "the stories are not easy to describe, but it has been said of them that we have nothing in English literature at once so tender, so passionate, so melancholy and so wise."1
