Description

A shadow box frame containing mounted photographs beneath a white mat-board depicting Craigdarroch Castle, Robert and Joan Dunsmuir, and the Jessie Sophia Dunsmuir wedding party outside Craigdarroch Castle, the narrow gold-coloured frame with a red velvet insert.

Narrative

This is probably the earliest interpretive exhibit owned by The Castle Society. 

History of Use

This shadow box display was designed and fabricated in 1960 for exhibit in Craigdarroch Castle. It was donated by Castle Society Director/Dunsmuir descendant James Guy Payne Audain at the March 8, 1960 Executive (Castle Society Board of Directors) meeting held in Mr. Audain's home. It was subsequently presented to the Greater Victoria School District at The Castle Society's March 26th Annual General Meeting.
