Description
A framed black and white photograph of the head and shoulders of Sarah Byrd Dunsmuir (1878-1925) at about age 20, her hair curled and chin-length, her head turned slightly to her right, her costume light-coloured, the support image cut into a oval and glued onto a brown mat.
Narrative
This photograph depicts Sarah Byrd Dunsmuir (1878-1925), later named Mrs. Guy Mortimer Audain.
History of Use
This photograph was used at the Victoria, B.C. Dunsmuir house named Burleith. Its subsequent history of use is unknown, but it was likely donated to Craigdarroch by her son, the late James Guy Payne Audain (1903-1970), who was a Vice President and President of The Castle Society and donor of other objects to Craigdarroch.
