Description
A sepia-toned photograph of Henrietta Maud Dunsmuir from the waist up, her head resting on her right hand, her left arm across her waist and her fingers curled around a cloth, wearing two strands of beads around her neck, her costume a white short-puffed sleeve blouse with a square neckline trimmed in lace, the bodice dark-coloured and trimmed in cord across the front, satin shoulder straps with a large bow on each at the front, an open light-coloured fan laying on the table, across the auxiliary support the name and addresses of the photographer, on the verso an advertisement for the photographer's studio.
Narrative
Henrietta Maud Dunsmuir (1872-1950) travelled in Europe with her mother and sisters in 1889 and 1890 and probably sat for this photographic portrait during that time.
