A cast brass door hinge with ornate finials at each end of the centre pin, four holes in each side-plate, the front sides with matching Anglo-Japanese floral decoration against a recessed black background, the pattern a mix of geometric and floral motifs repeating four times, twice on each front side of hinge, on the verso of each plate with one narrow strip of vertical decoration, the size '5 X 5' cast into the back of each plate.Narrative
The donor was employed as a nurse at the Gorge Road Hospital and collected this object during the demolition of Ashnola in 1970.History of Use
The donor collected this hinge during Ahnola's demolition in 1970 and kept it in her Victoria, B.C. residence until donating it to The Castle Society in 1988. Date
