A tall-backed dark oak armchair with barley-twist posts on each side of the back. The seat and back are covered with multi-coloured embossed leather seat and back. The frame is hand-carved with acanthus vines, floral patterns and figures. On the underside is a label bearing the date 1929.History of Use
The chair was in the home of the donor's Swedish grandmother when she lived in Malmo, Sweden. She had a 1907 photograph of the chair. She had the chair crated and moved with her to Seattle in 1950 and it stayed there until 1977. The donor owned the chair after 1977 and donated it to The Castle Society in 1988.Date
