Description
A gilt framed (a) photograph (b) of Henrietta Maud Dunsmuir (1872-1950) at about age 18, the image from mid-waist up, the right side of her face in profile, her wavy hair tied loosely back, her shoulders bare, her blouse or dress sequinned and short-sleeved with puffed fabric extensions, her neck and chest supporting a collarette with integral pendant made from small pearls.
Narrative
This photograph was taken in a professional's studio, possibly while Maud was travelling with her mother and sisters in 1889-1890 when they visited eastern North America, the United Kingdom and the European Continent.  

It was collected to aid in the presentation of Craigdarroch's Dunsmuir-period interiors. 
 
History of Use
This photograph was commissioned by the Dunsmuir family and was displayed at Mt. Adelaide during and after the lifetime of that house's owner, Mary Jean Dunsmuir (Mrs. Henry Croft).
