The history of use of this late 19th Century tablecloth makes it an important part of The Castle Society's primary museum collection. It was acquired in order to present the Dunsmuir family story at Craigdarroch. Its unusually large size makes it perfect for use on the Dunsmuir dining table at Craigdarroch.History of Use
This tablecloth was used at "Cloverdale", the farmhouse owned by Dr. William Fraser Tolmie (1812-1886) in what is today Saanich, BC. The tablecloth was given to donor's mother by Miss Jossette Catherine Tolmie (1869-1949), daughter of Dr.Tolmie. Date
