Description
A framed oil painting of landscape with a mauve-coloured snow-covered mountain range in the background, in the mid-ground a low hill extending from the left to mid canvas, at the right foreground four coniferous trees on a rise sloping down to the water's edge, a large white rock is prominent on the top of the slope, the artist's signature at bottom right, the canvas support bonded to a Masonite auxiliary support.
Narrative
The title of this painting might be on the canvas support but that surface was bonded to a Masonite  auxiliary support before the picture was donated to Craigdarroch in 1973.
History of Use
This picture was donated to Craigdarroch Castle Historical Museum Society in 1973 by Mr. R. B. Carbet of Calgary, Alberta. It was exhibited at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria from February to April, 1994 when Craigdarroch underwent Life-Safety upgrading.
