Fencing was a popular sport among military officer-cadets and officers during the 19th Century. Mrs. Robert Dunsmuir's grandson, Robert Dunsmuir Harvey (1878-1901), a former resident of Craigdarroch, won a trophy cup for his fencing prowess when an officer cadet at Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario (See: 998.034.004
