This is a 41-piece earthenware miniature dinnerware set comprised of various pieces including a soup tureen, entrée dishes, ladles, sauce boats, platters, plates, and bowls. The ground of each piece is white with a transfer-printed and painted blue and red floral pattern design.Narrative
This is an unusually large set of children's dinnerware made for play purposes. Although the vendor believed this set was made by Minton, there are no corroborating marks, and since the set is earthenware and not porcelain, the Minton attribution is probably incorrect. The hand-painted number 6772 is probably the maker’s design number and not an official British design registration number, which are typically printed or impressed and preceded with “Rd No.” or “Rd”. The absence of the name of the manufacturing country on the pieces likely indicates that the set was made prior to the US Tariff Act of 1890. The set was probably made in England between 1860 and 1870.History of Use
