Description

One white opaline porcelain thimble, conical in shape with a gold band at its bottom rim. Above this band is a repeating design in purple and gold executed by hand. The design near the rim is purple outlined in gold. There are gold scallops around middle of the thimble and a gold serrated pattern around the top. The top is knurled and relatively flat. There are no maker's or design marks.

History of Use

Unknown. The donor was a collector of needlework items and bequeathed this to Craigdarroch as part of a large gift of sewing tools.
