Description
A silk pincushion in the form of a jockey's cap, the visor purple, the cap itself in alternating purple and red silk panels with pins along the seam. The top of the cap has a circular button-like portion of brown silk.
Narrative
Hand-made pincushions were very popular during Victorian period. Magazines featured patterns for pincushions and the directions for making a jockey caps outnumbered any other style.
