A moss-green plush velvet smoking cap, circular and with a flat top and no brim, the stiffened sides heavily-embroidered in gold metallic threads in a floral spray pattern, the top similarly embroidered and including gold sequins and red-coloured fabric highlights, the cap's interior with floral-themed fabric lining.Narrative
Smoking caps and jackets were often used in the Islamic-themed smoking rooms of moderately well-off and affluent Victorians. This example was probably acquired for that purpose. History of Use
