Description

One in a pair of cistern brackets. It is one piece of nickel-plated cast metal bent at a 45 degree angle. It is loosely designed to represent a fleurs-des-lis. There is a vertical centre support with the maker's mark is stamped onto it.

Narrative

This pair of late 19th Century toilet cistern support brackets was purchased by The Castle Society for display in Craigdarroch's third floor bathroom. They now support a cherrywood cistern specially made for this bathroom by Darren Froese in the early 21st Century. 

History of Use

The Castle Society purchased these brackets from a Rhode Island, USA antique plumbing dealer in 2006. The history of use of the brackets is not known.
