Description
One brass nickel-plated 4-spoke style bathtub faucet handle, 6.6cm diameter, screwed onto a horizontal tube (6.4cmL) from behind. A large bolt holds everything in place as the end of the tube threads into a larger water line and goes through the removable circular cover (9.2cmdia) and into a T-shaped cast piece (14cmH X 7.7L). At the bottom of the T is a large bolt.
Narrative
This is one in a pair of compression faucet taps designed for use on a bathtub. A similar example is illustrated in the "Catalogue and Price List" published by Fleck Bros. of Philadelphia in 1890. 
History of Use
The Castle Society purchased this pair of faucet handles and the related spout assembly from a Rhode Island, USA dealer. Their history of use is not known.
