One in a pair of brass nickel-plated sink faucets. The vertical shaft is cast as one piece and is hollow to allow water to flow through it. There are three bulbous sections in the middle. The largest section is 3.2cm in diameter. Branching from its side is the 8.5cmL X 1.3 Dia spout with a 4cmL down-turned end. From its top is the threaded shaft and bolt through which the four-spoke metal handle is turned. At the opposite end of the shaft is a 5.2 hollow threaded shaft with two hexagonal nuts screwed on.Narrative
This compression sink faucet closely resembles an example depicted on page 8 of the trade catalogue published by Fleck Bros. of Philadelphia in 1890, and on page 10 of the trade catalogue published by the Sears, Roebuck & Co., Chicago, Ill., in 1908.
