Description
A colour photograph of a large ashlar castle-like structure (south and west facades of Craigdarroch Castle), a red-coloured slate roof, windows and wrought-iron fencing on balconies, black painted iron fire escapes on both facades, one white flag pole at the top of the two largest gables, another unpainted one horizontally from the railing of the highest south balcony, the southeast corner of the building enclosed by windows, in the foreground uncut bright green-coloured grass with a gray-coloured path (no stairs), in the parking lot above the grassed area is a line of cars from left to right: two white sedans, one blue station wagon, one red sedan, two small two-door cars, one station wagon with a canoe on the top, in the background a bright blue coloured sky with pink coloured clouds, 6 pink coloured columns on the first verandah, medium sized deciduous trees with three evergreens behind and to the right of the building, to the left is the roof top and chimney of a house (1070 Joan Crescent), on the verso blue machine printed text on white card indicating the title and an explanation of the building and the owner, vertically down the centre in upper case white lettering on a thick dark blue strip is the publisher and distributor's name, horizontally across the left bottom section of the stripe is the name and country of the printer, on the bottom left corner the series number of the image.

This photograph was taken when the Castle was headquarters for the Victoria School Board, also known as Greater Victoria School District #61.
