A gilt-framed unsigned oil painting of an English Lake District or or Scottish Highlands landscape scene, the foreground a grey-blue coloured lake with a smooth surface, a small treed-island just right of centre and behind a brown canoe holding two people, in the distance dimly-lit hills below a mauve-coloured sky, the canvas support on the verso stamped with the framer/seller's name in black ink (G. Rowney & Co.).
