One brown cardstock shipping label printed with black ink, "From A.H. Andrews & Co.' CHICAGO, ILL. No." After "No.", the number "3505" is written in black ink. There are three dotted lines on the label with these words written: "Mrs. J.O. Dunsmuir Victoria B.C." At the lower left corner is the number "15" handwritten in orange pencil crayon.
At the left side of the label is a reinforced hole with the name of the tag's manufacturer: "THE DENNEY TAG CO. 125 E.IND. ST. CHICAGO."
The tag is torn at all four corners. Narrative
This shipping tag was attached to back side of oak paneling destined for Craigdarroch Castle in the summer of 1890.1 The paneling was made by A.H. Andrews & Co. of Chicago, the largest manufacturer of furniture in the United States from 1885-1895.
