This is a certified paper copy of the certificate of marriage of Robert William Dunsmuir and Florence Swinden. It displays as white handwriting on a black background. It is written in Spanish. At the bottom of page two is an official government stamp and the signatures of the newly married couple. Included in the document are the names of the parents of the bride and groom. Narrative
This Certificate details the civil marriage of Robert (Robin") William Dunsmuir and Florence Swinden in Buenos Aires, Argentina. There is an English translation in this artifact's document file.
Mr. and Mrs. Dunsmuir subsequently had a Christian marriage ceremony in the City of Valparaiso, Chile on July 23, 1920. The officiant was the Reverend C. H. Hodson.
History of Use
This certified copy was created on October 30, 1939. It was used by Florence Dunsmuir (nee Swinden) in England and Victoria, B.C. until her death, when it became the property of her son Robin James Dunsmuir. After his death in 1990, it was used by his widow, Kathleen Dunderdale Hall Dunsmuir. After her death in 1992, it was donated to Craigdarroch Castle by the Executrix of her Estate.Date
