One sheet of waxed, green-brown coloured paper on which is drawn in black ink three "indicator diagrams" taken from the engines of the Dunsmuir yacht, TSSY Dolaura, the top diagram has specifications for two sets of engines and boilers, at bottom of sheet in upper-case letters underlined in black ink in three rows is printed, "Indicator Diagrams Taken from Engines of T.S.S. Yacht, 'Dolaura' ", at lower right a blue-coloured oval stamp reading "Fleming & Ferguson, Ltd. Engineers and Shipbuilders, 21 May, 1908 *Paisley*".Narrative
Collins English Dictionary defines indicator diagram as "a graphical or other representation of the cyclic variations of pressure and volume within the cylinder of a reciprocating engine obtained by using an indicator".
This sheet appears to have been produced by the builder of TSSY Dolaura around the time it was delivered to Hon. James Dunsmuir and his crew in Scotland. History of Use
The sheet was aboard TSSY Dolaura when it was delivered to Hon. James Dunsmuir in 1908. It was used by the donor's father, Alfred W. Greaves, Chief Engineer of Dolaura. It was inherited by his daughter Hilda, who donated it to Craigdarroch Castle Historical Museum Society in 1987. Date
